Maternity & Higher Education: online event on Monday 10th June

Written by Eloise Spearman | Client Services Manager

Returning Works is partnering with Advance HE and Universities HR to investigate the impact of motherhood on women’s careers in the higher education sector.

As part of this research, we launched a survey last summer to help us better understand the situation for parents with caring responsibilities in higher education. We had an absolutely fantastic response to the survey; thank you to everyone who took part.

We will be sharing our findings at Advance HE’s Caring Responsibilities and Gender Equality - Progress and Opportunities in Higher Education online conference on Monday 10th June 2024.

This Enhancing Practice Event will explore how the higher education sector is supporting staff to balance caring roles with work, from a gender equality perspective, through policy, practice and culture change. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on progress in their own institutions and opportunities for improving practice towards greater gender equality.

The event is open to staff of Athena Swan and Universities HR members, as well as other staff of Higher Education institutions. To register please click on the booking link below.

You will need to create or sign in to a My Advance HE account to book events. If you do not have one already you will be required to add an Employer Relationship to your profile to be able to use the portal. Guidance notes on the sign up process, including how to do this, can be found on here: https://www.advance-he.ac.uk/my-advance-he-guidance-notes

We hope you’ll be able to join us.
